With a comprehensive range of connections and components, a dual DAC configuration, second generation ATF upsampling to 24-bit/384kHz and three filter options for customised sound, the 851D provides bespoke digital-analogue conversion which uncovers even the tiniest audio detail.
SOUND FIRST DESIGN
The 851D was designed for people who want to store and play their music digitally, without compromising on sound quality. Today's high resolution digital music files allow music lovers to enjoy their music with new levels of detail and drama, and the 851D takes full advantage of such files, converting them into analogue sound with finesse. It will even upgrade the sound of popular music services and compressed mp3 files, using ATF2 upsampling (see below). Click on the video opposite for more detail.
SIX DIGITAL INPUTS
The Azur 851D's six digital inputs allow you to connect to many different source components such as smartphone docks, computers, set-top boxes, etc. Whichever source component you connect, dual Analog Devices upsampling DACs ensure you hear every drop of detail and drama on offer.
Digital inputs:
- Coaxial (a single jack for multi-channel audio)
- TosLink optical (an optical fibre connection system)
- BNC coaxial (a mini swift connect/disconnect radio frequency connection)
- AES/EBU (a serial interface that transfers digital audio to amplifiers)
- Asynchronous USB (a USB connection with a feedback loop that controls data per frame)
- Bluetooth wireless connectivity through the APTX compatible B100 component
ATF2 UPSAMPLING
All stereo sources can be upsampled to 24-bit/384kHz, kept jitter-free by proprietary, second generation ATF Adaptive Time Filtering algorithms co-developed with Anagram Technologies of Switzerland.

ALL METAL CHASSIS
The 851Ds chassis combines structural rigidity, careful damping and control of acoustic resonance to ensure uncompormising sound quality even at critical low level gain stages. The result is far improved stereo separation and imaging – unheard of at this price point.
